Our Story
Makgale Travel and Tours — MTT — is an African woman-led and owned travel and destination management agency. Founded in 2011, it has grown to become the travel partner of choice for business and leisure clients in both domestic and international markets. Petite in size, MTT offers a boutique travel experience fit for royalty to the discerning traveller who wants quality service and peace of mind moving between ports and resting their heads at the end of the day.
The MTT Team — or ambassadors, as they prefer to be called — bring amazing industry expertise, delighting customers from first point of contact to returning from their trip. That care was recognised with the 2018 Akwaaba African Travel Market Top 100 Operators Award, a fitting reward for the hard work the team puts into every customer's travel, adventure and accommodation experience.
We tailor tours and holiday packages to each client's requirements and budget — with 60- and 30-seater coaches for long-distance comfort, and 14- and 8-seater mini-vans for smaller, faster-moving groups. Travel insurance is offered on every journey, because safety and comfort are our lasting motto.
Growing Into the Future
MTT has experienced steady growth, buoyed by increasing bookings from both European and Asian clients. Our investment in destination property in Thailand signals the trajectory towards more African and South African tourists travelling to Asia, while our domestic booking rate keeps growing from our new Midrand base — right in the centre of the hustle and bustle.

Each Weekend Great Escapes voucher covers accommodation for two adults for three days and two nights at a partner hotel or lodge of your choice, subject to availability — plus dinner on arrival, breakfast and dinner the next day, and breakfast before check-out. Every voucher carries a unique number and is issued as a genuine gift item, never given away for free, so it keeps its full value as a present or reward.
